Side by side. it was how their life had started, and how it was now. Probably how it would end too. But the end would not come for awhile, and both Kaden and Kassidy enjoyed the present.
Kaden, being a yard ahead of his sister, was the first to scent the border. "Kass, stop." The fea froze, looking at her brother. "What is it?"
"There's a pack here," he muttered. "The lands beyond here are owned." The three-year-old looked at each other warily. They were only a stride from tresspassing. They could leave now, or try to join.
"I think," Kassidy suggested, "We should try and fin the alpha. Maybe they would let us in."
"No," Kaden argued, "It's too dangerous."
Defiantly, Kassidy lifted her head and howled, attempting to obtain the attention of the leader. Kaden shook his head, but did not protest further.
